TTK is working on securing pedestrian crossings in the Eurometropolis of Strasbourg.

Under the French Mobility Law (Loi d'orientation des mobilités, LOM), it is now obligatory to eliminate motorised parking in the 5 m in front of these pedestrian crossings. This frees up more space that can be used for other purposes, such as bicycle parking. This initiative is in line with the current context of urban densification and the promotion of active mobility, thus providing safer and more sustainable urban transport solutions.
The project includes different approaches to solutions: Depending on the context, different adaptations are therefore proposed, such as relocating parking spaces for the disabled, redesigning without relocating the parking space, or redesigning the parking space to include bicycle racks, etc. The appropriate solution is then identified during the on-site visit, which speeds up the process of preparing construction specifications.

Work on the first pedestrian crossings has been successfully completed and will continue over the next few years. The Eurometropolis contract covers approximately 2,000 pedestrian crossings.
