Supported by the Interreg France–Switzerland programme, these two Plans aim to strengthen cooperation between French and Swiss territories in the Jura region. Running in parallel until summer 2026, both projects seek to develop a shared vision for spatial planning, mobility and the attractiveness of this cross-border area.
The first project is led by the Haut-Jura natural regional park and the Association for the Economic Development of the Joux Valley. It covers the Haut-Jura area, the Joux Valley and the Nyon region. Its objective is to facilitate both daily commuting and tourism while developing a joint four-season tourism strategy supported by a multimodal mobility offer. For the past year, TTK has been working on this project together with the Swiss University HES-SO Valais-Wallis, which has now entered its final phase.
The second project is led by the Communauté de communes des Lacs et Montagnes du Haut-Doubs and the Association for the Economic Development of the Joux Valley. It covers the Lacs et Montagnes du Haut-Doubs area, the Joux Valley and Northern Vaud around the Mont d'Or – Dent de Vaulion area. Its objective is to develop pragmatic and coherent solutions for mobility and spatial planning that reflect the specific characteristics of this cross-border territory.
Both projects follow the same four-step methodology: a shared territorial diagnosis, the development of a cross-border strategy, the definition of an operational action plan, and the implementation of concrete measures. Beyond the technical aspects, the projects also aim to strengthen cooperation between stakeholders and foster a stronger sense of belonging to a shared cross-border territory.
Drawing on its expertise in cross-border mobility, spatial planning and multi-stakeholder collaboration, TTK is contributing to both initiatives, which demonstrate the strength of cooperation between France and Switzerland. They show how mobility, tourism and spatial planning challenges can be addressed jointly to deliver integrated and sustainable mobility solutions across a shared living area.
