The commissioning of the new charging station for the 2023/2024 schedule change is an important milestone in the introduction of this innovative technology in the public transport landscape of the Baden metropolis.
The first 12 MAN Lion's City 12E electric buses in the Karlsruhe fleet, which will be used commercially on routes 60, 62 and 70 of the network, will be recharging their batteries daily at the Karlsruhe Rhine harbour, which will be their future home station.
This regular stop at the terminal is also the first phase of the handover of a much larger building complex, the new depot West 2 (BHW2), a project that TTK engineers have been planning and implementing since 2019. Our construction supervision team went to great lengths to ensure the timely completion of the transport system section for this important milestone in the project.
