The district is receiving support from TTK GmbH, which is in charge of the project together with Blic GmbH. As part of the project, TTK is developing operational concepts ready for implementation for the use of battery buses.
In addition, a comprehensive calculation of the total cost of ownership (TCO) is carried out for various scenarios in order to identify the most economically and ecologically efficient solutions. This also includes the examination of technical feasibility and connection to the energy grid by Blic GmbH. Initial results should be available in September 2024.
Subject to political decisions on implementation, TTK and Blic will support MVV and the district to ensure that the measures to improve the sustainability of local public transport are fully realised.
This changeover is part of the district of Freising's efforts to reduce CO₂ emissions and pave the way for more climate-friendly mobility. The integration of battery buses should also improve air quality and make an important contribution to the energy transition.
