Following heavy rainfall in June, the Wieslauftalbahn line was flooded and is currently out of service. The railway infrastructure on the Wieslauftalbahn, operated by Württembergische Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft mbH (WEG), was submerged, polluted and heavily damaged in several areas.
TTK has been commissioned to provide the planning services required for a rapid return to service.
The sections impacted are those between Miedelsbach and Schlechtbach. The damage is mainly in the form of infiltration of tracks and pedestrian crossings, damage to the ballast superstructure caused by flooding, demolition of cable ducts and infiltration of mud into the superstructure.
The aim is to complete the specifications and tender documents as quickly as possible, so that the renovation work can be entrusted to a qualified construction company and the Wieslauftalbahn can return to service without delay.
